Hi, which applications did you test with the webcam? I have openSUSE 11.1 installed on the XP Box (1.3MP Cam) and a loaded uvcvideo module, but only skype brings up some cam pictures. I tried everything in Gnome & KDE Apps I could find but sometimes access is denied or some other strange errors. Are there any uvcvideo parameters to use?

Beside that, your hints on the modules for ssd and sound work pretty well. I also could get bluetooth to work - but don't trust the kde-tools, they show no device, but the hcitool does. Presenter mode with SonyEricsson Mobiles also work. --87.186.55.208 22:35, 25 December 2008 (UTC)

I guess it's an access right problem, maybe your user is not in the 'video' group? I don't use any parameters when loading uvcvideo. I only tested the webcam with 'mplayer tv://' and Skype, both worked very well. --Patrick 02:50, 26 December 2008 (UTC)

I tried it now also with the "mplayer tv://" and "vlc v4l2://" commandlines - they both work! Unfortunatly the "real" webcamsoftware doesn't work with the cam (luvcview, webkam, cheese). I try to do some bugreporting.. ;) --87.186.35.124 12:07, 27 December 2008 (UTC)
